Fazenda – Bishopsgate

BTNDC SCORE

38.5/50

The warm, plant-filled dining room at Fazenda Bishopsgate
Fazenda – BishopsgateBTNDC / South American grill

Fazenda Bishopsgate makes an entrance of it. The restaurant occupies a substantial, handsome space above its cocktail bar, with walnut, leather and plenty of green giving the room a sense of occasion without the stiffness that can come with it. There are quieter corners for a business lunch and enough energy around the central dining room to make a group feel immediately part of the action. It is a confident setting in the middle of the City, but the atmosphere is designed to welcome rather than impress from a distance.

The rodizio format gives the meal its rhythm. Skewers arrive with a mixture of ceremony and practicality, and the best cuts show the value of good sourcing, careful seasoning and the right amount of fire. Beef is the natural focus, with char and savoury depth doing most of the work, while the supporting dishes keep the experience from becoming a procession of richness. Salads, bread, sauces and hot sides matter here; they provide the pauses that let the next slice feel exciting rather than inevitable. The variety is considerable, but the meal has a pleasing logic when you trust the servers to pace it.

Service is where Fazenda earns much of its score. The team is attentive without crowding the table, explaining the format clearly and reading appetites with admirable accuracy. There is a sense that the staff want you to enjoy the ritual rather than simply maximise what lands on the plate. The price is significant, particularly once drinks and the full experience are added, but the setting, range and hospitality make it feel like a proper occasion. Fazenda Bishopsgate is not a restrained meal; it is a generous one, and it understands exactly why that remains such a pleasure.
